Henry Mulder, M.D.
Dr. Henry Mulder received both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Michigan. He went on to complete a psychiatric residency at the University of Colorado and became board certified in psychiatry in 1981. Since completing his training, he has held a number of leadership positions including Director of Outpatient Service, Director of Adult Inpatient Services, Medical Director for Hospital Services, and President of the Medical Staff at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, Director of Psychiatric Services at Holland Community Hospital and Vice President Of Medical Affairs at Saratoga General Hospital. He has been an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Michigan State University and was Director of the Psychiatric Residency Program in the Grand Rapids area for MSU.
Philip Fox, M.D.
Dr. Philip Fox is a board certified psychiatrist treating adults and older teens. Dr. Fox received his undergraduate education at Wheaton College. He completed medical school at Ohio State University and did his residency at the University of Rochester in New York.
Dr. Fox values working collaboratively with patients who have complex psychiatric problems. He is the medical director for the Electro-Convulsive Therapy Program at Pine Rest Christian Hospital.
Randall Wolthuis, PhD
Dr. Randy Wolthuis is a licensed psychologist and has been in practice in the West Michigan area for over 25 years. A graduate of Calvin College, he received his MSW degree from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Michigan State University. He is a member of the American Psychological Association. He has held several leadership positions including Corporate Director of Outpatient Services at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services and Director of the Broene Counseling Center at Calvin College.
Victoria Pelton, MA, LLP, CAADC
Victoria (Toriey) received her undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University and her Master’s degree from Western Michigan University in counseling psychology. Toriey has worked in residential and crisis residential programs at Hope Network and Pine Rest. Toriey comes to PAWM from community mental health during which she provided individual, family, and group services for adults, children, and adolescents working through a variety of mental health concerns. Toriey also provides co-occurring treatment for clients with both mental health and substance abuse concerns and is currently a registered addictions counselor.
Cheryl Samuels, LLP
Dr. Cheryl Samuels completed her undergraduate degree at The University of Michigan, With High Honors and Phi Beta Kappa. She completed her Master’s Degree and Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Michigan.
Connie VanderSchel, LMSW
Connie Vander Schel received her training as a Masters’ level social worker from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She has treated children, adults, families and couples in therapy settings as well as in medical/hospital settings and child welfare settings. Much of her experience has been with children in foster care or in adoptive placements. She has also worked with families who are adjusting to the painful realities of a divorce. Ms. Vander Schel provides play therapy for younger children, and seeks to include parents in the treatment process when possible.
Renee graduated from Michigan State University, College of Human Development and Family Studies with a MA in couple and family counseling. Renee believes therapy is a collaborative effort between therapist and patient. Working together to help patients reach their goals for emotional healing and psychological well-being. She also believes that you have inside of you, what you need to heal yourself, although during times of stress and pain it can be difficult to find. That’s why therapy can be so beneficial. It can help you uncover your strengths again, or perhaps help you see them for the first time in an environment of support and complete acceptance.
